Development Associate for Donor Relations

  Part-time Therapeutic Mentor (20 hrs)

Family Service, Inc. seeks qualified, dynamic applicants for the position of Therapeutic Mentor. Therapeutic Mentors provide one-to-one, strengths-based support to children, adolescents, and transition-age youth who have emotional/behavioral challenges.  Therapeutic Mentors work in community settings (schools, parks, homes, etc.), teaching youth skills of communication, conflict resolution, problem solving, and age-appropriate behaviors so that they can succeed in their homes, schools, and communities. 

 

A candidate for this part-time (20 hours/week) position will hold an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field and have a least one year’s experience working with the target population.  The ideal candidate is a great communicator with effective coaching and organizational skills and a passion for learning.  Must also work successfully as part of a team with outpatient providers, school personnel, and families.  Training and ongoing supervision will be provided.  An excellent driving record, a reliable vehicle, and working after-school hours and some evening hours are necessary.  $16/hour; no benefits. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a must.

CASA Guardian ad Litem
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in court. Volunteers receive a high level of training and support. No special experience is required.

Samaritan Crisis Line
The Samaritans of Merrimack Valley rely on volunteers who help those in crisis. People from all walks of life are trained by Samaritans to offer support and caring for those who are lonely, despairing or suicidal. Trainings are held throughout the year.
